Ambassador of the Month, The Orange County Chamber of Commerce
The Business View Point, May 2002

Richard W. Syrek is President and founder of the executive consulting firm, Mentor Management, LLC. Richard draws on his 30 years as a senior business executive to help his clients fully achieve their potential. He uses his expertise to analyze symptoms, quickly determine problems, and break them down into simple solutions.

Mentor Management, LLC distinguishes itself by respecting the existing corporate culture. Richard approaches each project in a non-threatening way, which elicits cooperation and understanding. He then uses the current culture to build on the change process, enhancing its effectiveness.

Any business where the strategic plan or vision is not being realized to its fullest potential is a possible client. Using a mentoring style, all involved are interviewed to uncover the issues. A report with recommended action is then prepared and presented in a professional and personal way.

In addition to his consulting business, Richard is involved as a board member and advisor on many prestigious local boards and organizations listed on his website: www.mentormanagementllc.com. He also serves as an adjunct professor at Rockland Community College.

Involvement with the Ambassadors has been a worthwhile experience. People from all facets of business in Orange County and beyond attend the monthly meetings. Sharing their stories and experiences helps to develop a better understanding of the business environment.

The role of an Ambassador is to meet and greet the members of the Chamber at events, and to regularly call and elicit member input. “When I introduce myself as an Ambassador, I immediately get a positive reaction. I am proud to be included as a member in this group.”
